Meet a Hero

Sept. 29, 2018 • Stay tuned for event details

Meet a Hero is a special event that takes place every other year as the world turns its attention to the Circle City for the celebration of the  Indianapolis Prize, the world's leading award for animal conservation.

Visitors of the Indianapolis Zoological Society will have the rare opportunity to meet some of the world's most respected animal conservationists, including the 2016 winner and finalists of the Indianapolis Prize, and find inspiration in their stories.

These stars of conservation will be available to chat and sign autographs for guests on their very own conservation collector cards. Sets of these limited edition cards are available free to the first 2,000 guests. For our younger visitors, or those still young at heart, the event will include fun games and activities to teach the importance of protecting endangered species.

This event is a tremendous opportunity for both children and adults to interact with world-renowned scientists and researchers who are helping save wild things and wild places.

In 2016, event participants were given the opportunity to meet 2016 Winner Carl Jones, 2014 Winner
Patricia Wright, 2012 winner Steven Amstrup, and Finalists, Joel Berger, Dee Boersma, Rodney Jackson, Carl Safina and Amanda Vincent; and Global Wildlife Ambassador Jane Alexander.

Participation to this event is included with regular Indianapolis Zoo admission.
